AgStar is seeking a Closing Specialist in our Blue Earth, MN office to efficiently and economically set up, organize and close mortgage loans, short-term loans, and occasionally large transactions classified commercial or AgriBusiness with all AgStar clients. This individual will be responsible for providing quality control regarding legal requirement, consumer lending laws, correct security lien position, and following policy and procedure during the loan closing process from application through finaling, including all post closing follow through. In addition, the Closing Specialist will be responsible for researching parcel history at the county courthouses. This individual will present a professional image to the client and provide discretionary service that exceeds client expectations. This individual will be required to provide first-level client service, determines client's needs, and meets those needs to the extent of delegated authority. This individual will work very closely with all departments to service all aspects of client relationships and loan closing within the assigned area and will be required to provide services in a manner that exceeds client expectations.
Qualified candidates for this position will have;
Some post high school education in business administration or related field
2 to 4 years related work experience in loan processing, loan servicing, paralegal work or loan closing required
Closing Agent License or Insurance Producer License is preferred
A background in agriculture
Experience providing face-to-face service to internal and external clients
Solid working knowledge in personal property, real estate security requirements and title insurance
Basic accounting skills and ability to accumulate data
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
Strong good interpersonal, communication, organizational, client service, time management and listening skills
Solid computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and client databases
Knowledge of AgStar products, processes and services.
